Take a Deep Breath

In my letter yesterday, I discussed the limitations of supplementation. Click here to read yesterday's issue of the cholesterol series.

Rushing Raises Cholesterol

Craig was always in a hurry. He even rushed others. But he didn't realize that his body interpreted his impatience as stress.

Chronic stress increases stress hormones. High stress hormone levels can lead to high cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar and increase the likelihood of death.

Scary stuff...

In recent years, the family noticed Craig's declining health. Craig no longer works as quickly as he used to, which frustrates him. He's impatient with himself, now.

Are you impatient with yourself, Reader?

Chronic stress, like impatience, will keep cholesterol at unhealthy levels and increase the risk of cardiovascular problems.

But what if intentionally practicing patience (along with the other suggestions in this series) could increase your faith and lifespan?

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
—Psalms 27:14

Consider this letter a simple reminder to be patient. Be patient with your co-workers, friends, family, and yourself.

Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself."

But how can you love your neighbor well if you do not love yourself? And how can you love yourself if you're impatient with yourself?

Adopt 777 Breathing

The next time you are tempted with impatience, take 7 deep breaths, hold each one for 3-7 seconds, and exhale for 7+ seconds.

There's one more important piece of free information that I'd like to give you. It's a tool, and I'll share it with you tomorrow.

Talk to you then.
